students shall
compose a 5-6 page research paper, presenting his or her unique interpretation or viewpoint on a
specific discourse within the selected work. Students must meet the minimum page requirement
and incorporate no fewer than three secondary sources within the essay in order to submit the
assignment for evaluation.
II. Academic discourse: Every secondary source must belong to the same discourse, and at least
one secondary source must explicitly reference another. Secondary sources must originate from
reputable institutions or databases. Any electronic source not collected through Gale, JSTOR,
EBSCO, Google Scholar, or not exhibiting an .EDU or .GOV domain name must receive
permission from the instructor prior to usage.
III. MLA Style: The research paper must adhere to and exhibit MLA style parenthetical
documentation and formatting throughout the entire essay, including the Works Cited page.
