PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION
The importance of this study lies in its attempt to bridge the gap between the complicated legal language and its comprehension by the Filipino population. The implementation of the Android Application for translating legal documents is aimed at ensuring that legal documents are accurately translated and simplified into the culturally and linguistically relevant Filipino. This development becomes a most vital tool through which Filipinos, especially those from marginalized communities, can access legal information with clarity and confidence. Another advancement established through the use of NLP and AI in this project is assumed to exist in the space of low-resource languages, thus contributing to the wider field of legal technology and IT solutions for inclusive purposes. This application has the ability to take users through legalese and into the domain of everyday life. It will create understanding, accessibility, and transparency while also maintaining legal integrity in every aspect of translation. This application would empower users, ease misconceptions related to law, and sustain an informed society in legal matters.
Below are the following beneficiaries who will benefited the system:
Administrative and legal staff can utilize the application to facilitate their work processes pertaining to legal documentation. Legal material is simplified and accurately translated, thus saving time on interpreting contracts and affidavits which in turn has a positive effect on workflow efficiencies and savings of operational costs for companies and organizations.
Researchers working on issues related to linguistics, legal informatics, and technology will benefit from this research, as it offers some insight into the development of tools that integrate NLP and AI for legal translation. It forms a base for more future research into context-aware localization, legal simplification methods, and innovations in low-resource language processing.
Future researchers may utilize this study as a baseline for developing improved versions of the free standing system or extending its functionality to include other languages and jurisdictions. The whole research infrastructure created through this project acts as a gateway for further research in AI-powered legal apps and thus guarantees dynamic and innovative progress in the entire field of legal technology
