A literature review on The Evolution of Football Boots in Preventing ACL Injuries in Women football players

The purpose of the systematic review is to
comprehensively evaluate existing research on the evolution of football boots
and their role in preventing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in women
footballer athletes. Studies have identified that females in professional and
amateur football players as have a higher incidence of knee injury and anterior
cruciate ligament (ACL) injury than males (Giza, 2005).Therefore in this review
it aims to synthesize the available evidence to better understand the
relationship between football boot design and how over time they have been
customed for ACL injury prevention (Kaila, 2006).

Overall, the aim of this systematic review
is to extensively evaluate previous research on the evolution of previous
football boots and how they have developed today to play an important role in
reducing the risk on causing Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in
amateur and professional women football. With this review it will discuss and
synthesize the relevant evidence to help understand the relationship between previous
and UpToDate football boot designs and how it has reduced ACL injury prevention.

Over the last previous years women football
has been increasingly popular all over the world and has been growing several
participants on playing the game for the enjoyment or at a professional level
due to participants increasingly growing there are known physiological,
psychological and social benefits of sports participation which could be offset
by the risk of injury (Crossley, 2020) therefore due to these factors it is one
job for football boot manufacturers to develop football boots on which decrease
that psychological barrier to keep an rising number of participants in the
future.

 With
this systematic review it will be focused on peer reviewed studies and research
articles which has been published in academic journals and websites, in
addition to this relevant conference papers and reports of the relevant
research will also be reviewed. The scope of these studies will examine the
biomechanics on how women are more likely to develop more ACL injuries compared
to male football amateurs and athletes by doing this we look at both loading
mechanics within the knee joint and the movement on which causes the most stress
to the ACl whilst doing this we will be also discussing on how companies today
have developed their football boots design to help reduce the risk of ACL
injuries football and also keep a good level of comfort for the players specifically
in women’s football at all age groups and all skill level. When reviewing
relevant research both qualitative and quantitative research will be considered
to give an accurate biomechanical and patient prevalence view on their
experience between their relationship between ACL injuries and football boots.
Due to looking at the development of football boots over time the systematic
review will not be limited to a specific time frame as we would need to examine
the evolution of football boots through previous generations and discuss on how
they have developed over time to relevant day and how they have been designed
to prevent fewer injures over the years (Castillo, 2022) .
