This is a research paper for my subject Dance History in which I wanted to search for a parallel between Japanese dance theatre form Butoh and hypnotherapy, using kinesthetic empathy as a clear tool to do so. It needs to be divided in 4 or 5 chapters. The word count concerns the introduction, the 4/5 chapters and the conclusion. The conclusion needs to try to attempt the following research question:
What mechanisms shared by both the performative tradition of Butoh dance theatre and hypnotherapy, psychologically affect people in the same or similar ways, therefore establishing a parallel between the two?
The question doesn’t have to have a clear answer. What is important is the reflection on it by means of the information gathered in the chapters.
