Chapter 1.
Nahavandi describes leadership as a complex process that is a journey, not a destination. Effective leaders continue to grow, improve, and learn from their mistakes. Basic points to consider are:
· Finding your passion
· Learning about yourself
· Experimenting with new behaviors and situations
· Getting comfortable with failure
· Paying attention to your environment
· Remembering that it is about others, and
· Not taking yourself to serious
Using the advice above, address each basic point with personal examples to show the type or leader you are, or prepare to become. Leadership, as discussed in the readings, affects everybody and is practiced in all walks of life. This may be professionally, academically, or personally. Be thoughtful and in-depth in your response.
