ADOBE: BUILDING MOMENTUM BY ABANDONING ANNUAL PERFORMANCE REVIEWS FOR “CHECK-INS”

  The purpose of the final project is that students reflect on concepts they have learned through the
entire course to help them apply major management concepts to a real industry case.
Detailed Instructions:
Having carefully read the case study, fully answer the following questions by developing a
formal cohesive report with introduction, body, and conclusion. The report should be written in
Times New Roman 12 font, double-spaced format, and by no means exceed 8 pages excluding
cover page and reference page. In your report,
a) Provide a very short summary of the case study.
b) Explain the role of leadership in Adobe’s performance evaluation strategic change.
c) Explain the role of organizational culture in Adobe’s performance evaluation strategic
change.
d) Explain the role of national culture in employees’/managers’ responses to performance
appraisal strategic change. As Adobe continued to expand geographically, suggest how
should the Check-in approach be modified to align different geographic realities.
e) Enumerate some reasons why Adobe’s change in performance appraisal strategy was
relatively successful. Enumerate some potential adverse results of this change.
f) Explain what Adobe could do to assure managers that, by taking risks and engaging in
difficult conversations, they would be maximizing Adobe’s future prospects.
Put the effort into developing a cohesive organized report that is formally written, grammatically
correct and free of spelling errors. Use APA style (7
th edition) to cite relevant material. Note
that using someone else’s idea without appropriately citing is considered an act of academic
dishonesty.
