Agricultural Issues that can/will come with a shift in the American diet to greater vegetable and less meat production. Visuals from sources like the USDA, department of agriculture or from peer-reviewed journal articles. Peer reviewed sources are critical for content. Serious research is needed for this. I would like the presentation to start with where agriculture stands with the american/western diet today, and then discuss why there is pressure to make a change to consume less meat (obesity, cardiovascular disease, colorectal cancer etc.). Then if we were to implement the change and the country’s diet relied heavily on plant proteins, what change will that have on the agriculture industry: Will government subsidies change, will we need to clear land for crops, will greenhouse gas emissions decrease, etc. Then I would like the presentation to end with whether or not this change is sustainable with the current population and with the population growth projection.
