1. Write a 2-4 page typed paper. (The papers can be longer.) You are encouraged to
coordinate the paper with the English
department. You can do one well written
paper
to turn in for credit in both classes.
2. For references include at least 2 magazine or
journal articles, one of which must be
from a science journal. Scientific web sites will also be accepted. Do not use
encyclopedias as a reference. You may use whatever books are
applicable.
Scientific websites are acceptable.
3. Please summarize the reference articles in
your own words. Do not copy the
articles.
Any papers plagiarized will receive a
zero. Document sources and cite
material
taken from the sources. Correctly identify both direct and
manipulated quotation. If
you need help, see an English instructor
or me during office hours.
4. Include a bibliography page, which includes
the following information from your
resources: journal and article name or
book name, author, page numbers, volume
numbers, dates, and/or publishers. The purpose of a bibliography page is to
identify
what ideas came from which sources.
5. Cite the sources in the body of the paper by
APA style. This is a publication manual
which explains the proper techniques and
rules for writing papers. A copy of this
is
available in the library, but it may not
be checked out.
