  • Explain the role of collective bargaining and associated rights. 
  • Describe the main employers and employee organisations in South Africa. 
  • Explain freedom of association and the rights of non-unionised and unaffiliated workers.
  • Explain rights and obligations in the employment relationship. 
  • Explain the main issues in fair employment practices in the workplace. 
  • Explore the nature and practice of discipline and dismissal in the workplace.
