ACC 317 Module One Activity Guidelines and Rubric

Overview

An important skill in accounting is being familiar with the FASB Accounting Standards Codification. This practice activity will allow you to explore the FASB website and the accounting standards codification numbers.

Directions

Follow these steps to successfully complete this practice activity:

1. Access the FASB Accounting Standards Codification website linked below in the Supporting Materials section.
2. On the right side of the screen under Basic View, select I’m not a robot and pass through the reCAPTCHA system. Select Access the Basic View.
3. Accept the license agreement for the Basic View.
4. Find each topic/subtopic listed in the left column of the template linked in the What to Submit section.
5. Find the coordinating codification code for each topic/subtopic. Insert this number in the right column of the template.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

1. Identify the codification code for the topics/subtopics listed.

What to Submit

Using the Module One Activity Template, insert the accounting standards codification numbers for the topics/subtopics listed.
