1. ASSIGNMENT
Ben Chase, the Chief Executive Officer
(CEO) of InvestCo has commissioned you to investigate why the Aspire
organisation development (OD) programme was not successful, and make
recommendations going forward.
Your task is to analyse and evaluate the case study
using your knowledge of the practices and principles of Organisation
Development taught on the module to produce a written report. Guidance for
completion of the report is set out in the sections below. Further detailed
guidance will be provided in lecture and workshop 7 (Assessment Support). You will need to familiarise yourself with
the case study, InvestCo.
The CEO is also keen to learn from
your expert knowledge of a specialist Organisation Development (OD) topic. You
should incorporate your knowledge of a specialist topic (i.e. your ‘insights’
topic of either Culture, Social Exchange Theory or Diversity &
Inclusion) into your recommendations (see module outline; further information
will be provided in lectures 1 and 7).
The Format and
Structure of your Report
The assignment should be presented in a written
report format. You should use numbered headings and sub-headings as appropriate
and ensure there is a clear structure to your work. Also, include a separate
title page and references page. Ensure any figures (such as completed templates
showing your analysis and using the practical tools from the module) are
clearly labelled in an Appendices section and referred to in the report.
Your report should contain the following sections:
1. Title page
2. Executive summary
3. Analysis of the drivers for
organization development
4. Analysis of the approach taken in the Aspire OD programme in the case
study
5.

undertaken
6. Management recommendations
incorporating your ‘insights’ topic of choice
7. Personal reflection
8. References (should be more than 15)
