In
writing this paper, you will need to interpret the results of each experiment
and determine how these results correspond to the authors’ conclusions. In addition, the best papers will also
explain why the other experiments are not as important as the one you have
chosen.
Structure
of Paper:
Introduction: Provide background information on the
topic. This should lead into the
authors’ question or hypothesis followed by the key conclusion. The thesis statement for the paper (end of
the first introductory paragraph) should then list which experiment(s), figure
number and letter, that best support the authors’ conclusions.
Body: The initial paragraphs should then discuss
the most important experiments. Explain
the purpose of the experiment and key experiment that was done to answer the
question. Next you should discuss the
data from the experiment. This means
breaking down a graph, or chart, or figure into its component parts and
extracting out the key information. Then
explain how this data supports the authors’ conclusion.
The
remaining paragraphs can more briefly discuss the less important experiments in
terms of their purpose and results and explain why they are not as important to
the authors’ conclusions as the ones you have identified as being more
important.
Conclusion: Briefly summarize the experiments you have
chosen to be the most important to the authors’ conclusions.
These are the exact instructions for my paper. Attached is the article that needs to be analyzed.
