This project provides you with an opportunity to increase and demonstrate your understanding of e-commerce theory and practice. Relatively few companies or nonprofit organizations effectively utilize the Internet in their marketing programs. Most small businesses still do not even have a website. Identify a company that you believe would benefit from an improved e-commerce program. Please follow the below instructions to complete your assignment.

SLO (Program Objective): Plan the processes, phases, domains, and measures for effectively managing complex information technology projects

1. The first section, Analysis, is a summary of the company, its marketing environment, its main customer market, marketing mix and two or three of its major competitors. Tools such as SWOT Analysis and Porters 5 Forces may be applied. Primary and secondary research is expected.

2. The second section, E-Commerce Rationale, should explain why the company or organization should increase and improve its e-commerce activity, given the particular nature of its marketing environment. You are expected to explicitly draw on theories and concepts presented in the textbook and your readings. Apply them to the company’s particular situation.

3. A third section, E-Commerce Critique, will explain the company/organizations website and apparent e-commerce activity. (Is the site easy to navigate, security issues, are the ad claims supported, etc.). This section should detail what the company’s e-commerce priorities should be. Please be specific.

4. The final section is Recommendations of the company/organization’s website and e-commerce activity driven by configuration managment. This should detail what the company’s e-commerce priorities should be. as project managers, you must be able to decide how the company should proceed. A detailed implementation plan is NOT expected, but you should provide enough specifics to make the proposal substantial foundation for practical follow-up with the company. Again, is making recommendations, you are expected to draw on theories, concepts and readings.

The paper is due at the end of Week 4. Your paper must be 5 pages in length. In addition to the 5 pages of the paper itself, you must include a title page and a references page. Your title page must include the title of your paper, the date, the name of this course, your name and your instructor’s name. Your references must be written in APA citation style 12 point Times New Roman or Arial font. You must cite a minimum of five (5) outside sources. All assignments must be completed and uploaded in a MS Word document for grading.
