Tips for Assignment this week
This week, you will be creating a research poster for the Analyzing Interventions for the National Emergency on Child and Adolescent Mental Health Assignment.
- Creating a research poster may be a new task for you, so I wanted to show you some examples of posters. Learning how to create a poster is one of the assignment goals in addition to showing your critical thinking about the material. It involves using technology in a potentially new way as well as thinking about how to present information outside of traditional scholarly writing that you are so practiced at in your courses. Students in online courses do a lot of writing, and this type of assignment forces students out of that box and teaches them to put information in a new format. It is often stretching for students and takes time to complete. Please plan accordingly!
- A poster like the one you will create would be in theory printed at a printer and presented at a conference. You do not need to print the poster and will just submit to me the electronic form. However, I have attached a picture of a poster presentation so you can get the idea if you have never been to a poster presentation like this before.
- Many students use Powerpoint to create posters. It involves using small font and zooming in and out to create your poster.
- Analysis of at least 5 scholarly sources that you locate from the library need to be included on your poster. Don’t forget to include intext citations to show where you are bringing in your scholarly sources in your writing. It should be clear how each source has research evidene to support your intervention arguments on your poster.
- Make sure to read the assignment instructions carefully, and of course email me if any questions come up along the way.
I will send you instructions, rubric, the resources and examples of different posters.
Include Intro, body and conclusion along with visuals. Include APA in text citations and a reference page on the 2nd slide. Include small font and zoom in and out to create the poster.
Have at least 5 scholarly journal article sources within 5 years along with that biblical verse in text citation and reference. so 6 sources!!! Make 5 main sections in total! Include biblical scripture in the conclusion! Everything will be included in 1 whole slide and just the second slide has a reference section. Put a title and then I will put my name under the poster title. Use 5 subheadings according to the instructions! No long paragraphs, needs to be short ans bulleted. Include a caption and has to be in my own words so no quotes. Please read everything carefully! Thank you and good luck!
