This literature review is part of the dissertation for Master of Dental Surgery in Endodontics. My research is related to anterior maxillary labial bone thickness, as measured on cone-beam computed tomography scans.
The dental literature review is required to cover a number of topics as follows:
1) cone-beam computed tomography accuracy in endodontics
2) bone thickness in relation to gingival tissue biotype
3) bone thickness in relation to flap design for dental surgery
4) bone thickness in relation to healing
5) bone dehiscence and fenestration as pathology vs. natural anatomy
6) healing and guided tissue regeneration (GTR) in preservation and re-establishment of bony contour
7) bone thickness in different ethnic groups, more focus on anterior maxillary labial bone thickness
8) briefly on tooth inclination in relation to bone thickness
