An analysis of at least three of Alberta’s buildings, focusing on both their exteriors and interiors, constructed between 1960 and today.
For each building, explore the following aspects:
- A brief introduction to both the exterior and interior of the building
- A concise biography of the architect(s)
- An in-depth analysis of the architectural characteristics
- A detailed examination of the building materials used
- A comparison highlighting the similarities and differences between the selected buildings
- A concluding section summarizing your perspective on Canada’s architectural identity, particularly as it relates to Alberta.
The three buildings selected for this analysis are:
- Calgary Central Library, 800 3 St SE, Calgary, AB T2G 2E7
- Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton, AB
- [Third building of your choice with different materials]
Please note that two examples of the assignment have been provided to clarify the expected format, with a primary focus on the architectural analysis. No images are needed; I will add those to my slides later. The information should be formatted in a Word document with APA citations.
