Purpose: To communicate your understanding of an article’s main points and offer an objective critical analysis of the research.
- You will be critically reviewing and analyzing one of your selected articles, which are related to your topic for your research paper.
- A critical review of a research article includes identifying the article’s strengths and implications, identifying the reading’s weaknesses and flaws and overall looking at the “big picture” and deciding how the article’s research contributes and fits into the SLP field.
- Each summary should provide a comprehensive examination of the purpose of the study, research questions, methodology, results, and conclusion.
- You should also provide a brief critical evaluation of the research (article).
- This must be an original research article (peer-reviewed primary source)
- DO NOT USE : Clinical Expert, Summary, Systematic Review, Meta-analysis, Discussion, or other article review.
- This should be written in your own words. Review the article using the critical review form (see above).
- The use of artificial intelligence is not permitted.
- Do not plagiarise – please adhere to your code of ethics as a healthcare professional
- Any indication of plagiarism and/or use of artificial intelligence will result in an automatic “0” and possible academic referrals
- Article review must have the PDF copy of the original article you are critiquing
