In this assignment, you will create an RFI and a change order for a fictional construction project. 


You will create both parts separately, but you will submit both documents to this assignment.

You are currently working on a construction project that has already begun. The drawing for this project is available as a PDF in this module. While working on this project, you find a conflict between the drawing and the jobsite. Specifically, you notice an issue with the size of the ductwork and the proposed ceiling height. The ductwork will be below the ceiling height. As a result, you need to write an RFI and a change order to find out how to proceed with the ductwork installation.


Using the Assignment 4 Blank RFI Form Excel template provided, write an RFI for this project. Include the following information in the document:

  • Your name

  • Your title = Rowan University Student

  • Company = Rowan University Construction Department

This assignment must be typed and submitted electronically in MS Excel format.










  1. Complete and submit Assignment 4 – RFI and Change Orders Pt. 2. 

Using the same information and your RFI from Pt. 1, use the Assignment 4- Blank Change Order Form Excel template provided to write a change order for this project. 


Use the following information to complete the change order:

  • This change will take 24 hours to complete and will include a foreman, a journeyman, and an apprentice.

  • It will take… 

    • the shop 8 hours to remake the ductwork for this change.

    • the Cad Drafter 3 hours to redraw this change.

    • the Project Manager 1 hour to write a change order and RFI.

    • 2 hours for the delivery to take place.

  • It will cost… 

    • $250 to rent an aerial lift

    • $150 in new hardware to install the new ductwork.

    • $3,000 for the insulator to wrap the new ductwork.

  • Leave all the markup percentages as they appear.

  • Leave the Sales tax at 7%

  • Make sure that you fill out the work description.
