This is a 4000 word assignment +/-10% . I have written although requires editing for better academic style and more references approx 2500 words already.
Information about the assignment below:
· Learning Outcome 1: Critically evaluate the current policy and practice of inclusive education, informed by academic research and professional practice;
• Learning Outcome 2: Interpret and explain educational training and interventions which support inclusive practice in the classroom, through advanced scholarship.
For the assignment, you need to consider a difficulty a child has, an intervention to support that need and then a reflection on the impact of the intervention on both the child and their need and your future professional practice.
An effective intervention will have a strong evidential base so that you can be assured that the approach you are taking is strong and the most financially economical approach for the needs of the child.
There are two practices in implementing an intervention that are to be avoided:
· The temptation to try multiple interventions to address the same need. Sometimes multiple interventions will be used to address multiple needs, but there should only be one intervention used at a time to address a particular need
· There is a temptation to give up too easily on an intervention and deem it ineffective before it has truly had time to take effect. An intervention will usually need at least 6 sessions, often over a long period of time (for example, one intervention once a week for 6 weeks) before the skills being taught can be fully implemented and become embedded in the child’s learning
For your assignment, you need to:
· Identify a need a child has: this will not necessarily be a diagnosis or condition but instead a single identifiable need; for example, difficulty sequencing events; difficulty with auditory processing; difficulty with attention; difficulty with articulating ideas.
· Find out what literature says about that need and how you can address it.
· Find an existing intervention or create one of your own that addresses that need (justified by the literature you have found).
· Undertake the intervention with the child.
· Show the impact of the intervention.
· Show how this will impact your own practice in your setting and in future work.
