Leadership, communication, and technology will be continually infused in aspects of your academic and professional life. As you progress along your chosen career path, it is likely that you will increase your skills in these areas; however, the development will also require thoughtfulness so that you can remain current and achieve continuous improvement. Concrete planning, being proactive, and reviewing all details will allow you to achieve the greatest benefits as a direct result of your focus, attention, and efforts. In addition, this will help you to work well ahead in order to submit your required document prior to the due date and/or deadline.

Using the new conceptual knowledge you have gained in your research, you will create a plan to inspire and foster a commitment to professional growth and improvement in the areas of leadership, communication, and technology as it relates to your chosen concentration/profession. This plan will include clear goals and strategies to develop or improve the knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics that you will need to be a successful leader. The final plan will be a living document that will change and grow with you during your academic and professional career. For this assignment, you will write a self-improvement plan in first person regarding areas of excellence (i.e., where you succeed) and areas of development (i.e., where you need to improve). Keep in mind that this document will continuously transform as you further your degree and career. In addition, there is an introduction and a conclusion, which you can find in the instructions in the mandatory assignment template.

In the Areas of Excellence, define your current strengths in the areas of leadership, communication, and technology (2 strengths in each category). You must start every section in an opening paragraph (i.e., leadership, communication, technology) by introducing your possible audience to your 2 areas of success for all three areas totaling six areas. This means two strengths for leadership, two strengths for communications, and two strengths for technology. Then, you will highlight these 6 strengths as Areas of Excellence and provide a detailed example of how you have utilized these strengths in a professional setting. The template is updated for all students to place information and research in the correct areas.

In the Areas of Development in which you would like to improve, define your perceived limitations in the areas of leadership, communication, and technology (2 areas of development in each category). You must start every section in an opening paragraph (i.e., leadership, communication, technology) by introducing your possible audience to your 2 areas that need development for all three areas totaling six areas. This means two development areas for leadership, two development areas for communications, and two development areas for technology. Explain why you consider each a limitation and why you think it will be valuable to improve these six Areas of Development. The template is updated for all students to place information and research in the correct areas.

You are to prepare a doctoral-level paper, at least eight full pages of content, plus a title page, statement page, and a references page. Since this assignment is written from your perspective, you will write in the first person; there are at least 12 scholarly references (last 5 to 7 years) required to validate your responses.

No generative artificial intelligence can be used as sources for assignments to include no use of Grammarly or other platforms that modifies content and references/in-text citations.

No secondary sources can be used for the assignment, No direct quotes can be used for the assignment, and No books or trade journals can be used, only current scholarly journal articles (past 5 to 7 years) that are labelled academic, peer-reviewed, or refereed journals. In addition, no abbreviations, no acronyms, no contractions, and no bullet format, only academic sentence and paragraph format.

All references must align with in-text citations and be complete with all information (i.e., authors, date, title, source) to include the DOI or the URL. The exact URL/DOI must be included to retrieve the actual source. By not including the direct URL/DOI, the source will not count towards total sources used. This will help faculty retrieve the source to determine if the source meets the requirements of the submission.

Your 12 current scholarly sources can be repeated throughout this assignment to synthesize your content. However, for “every” paragraph, two or more separate current scholarly sources are required to synthesize and validate your claims.

In addition, you will complete and analyze your nine researched/selected surveys, which will be part of your narrative (see the directions in Survey Analyses Section).

Do not utilize only one source per paragraph, as you must synthesize your content, meaning that your paragraphs need two or more separate sources to synthesize the content and validate your claims. In addition, all paragraphs must have a minimum of five to six academic sentences; however, do not minimize your thoughts and be aware of having short choppy sentences. Refer to your faculty member’s expectations.

Survey Analyses Section

Please conduct research in order to select, complete, and analyze at least nine surveys in these three areas to assist you in your writings. You must select three surveys in leadership, three surveys in communication, and three surveys in technology. Your faculty will upload many surveys in the Modules link on your Canvas page, where you will pick one of the available surveys for each category (one survey in leadership, one survey in communication, and one survey in communication). However, as a researcher, you must conduct your own research regarding the remaining two surveys for each category, as you need a total of three surveys for each category. That stated, you will still need to find a total of 6 surveys on your own (two in leadership, two in communication, and two in technology). There is no limit on the publication date of surveys; however, all surveys must be cited and aligned with the references. Please refer to the APA manual for format of citations. In addition, you will find the proper format with level headings in the mandatory template, so do not deviate from the template format, as points will be deducted.
