There are two parts to this assignment. The first one is a 6 page book review: Your paper should include a brief review of the book, but should focus on providing a critique of the author’s thesis and its applicability for understanding student culture or characteristics.
1. Using Tatum’s book as your foundation, answer the following:

- Describe your gut reaction to Tatum’s book and issues of race.
- What are your thoughts on Tatum’s ideas of Identity Development?
- Why are conversations about race and gender so important? To Student Development? On college campuses? In America today?
2. YOU are the target this time (Input diabolical laugh). Using the specifics of the Moral Development Theory, identify where you are currently in the stages of development and trace back to when you think your journey began. So, two things – WHEN and HOW you believe your moral development began, i.e., the realization of morals.
