- summarize the article in your own words and discuss economic, agricultural, botanic, medical, or other importance to you and your life.
- minimum of 2 pages, maximum of 3 pages; better papers will be closer to 3 pages because you need the space to summarize and present your personal connection
- 12-point font maximum
- double-spaced; do not add additional spaces before/after the title or between paragraphs – you will lose -1 point per error
- no title page: the title of your paper will be the same as your article; capitalize and center
- no headers/footers: you will lose points if you include them
- no citations
- no work cited page
- name and date of submission are to be typed in the upper left corner; papers without a name will lose -5 points
- do not include the link to your source at the end of your paper: I will NOT count it as a source
- 1″ margin on all sides: I will use a ruler and measure it
- professional research articles only, all other sources will result in a loss of points
- this is not a report, but a position paper… tell me your position about this journal article AND make a deep and personal connection to the topic (See rubric)
- From the rubric: purpose of the study, people involved, location, date, number of participants, and details (age, sex, race, etc) about the participants. Reason why this article was chosen, how did you connect with this topic, personal connection addresses examples of you and how the topic has affected you, your life, personality, attitudes, outlook, and all in exceptional detail.
- “Unintentional plagiarism” will not be accepted and will be considered plagiarism – proof your papers as necessary. Plagiarism will be checked using Grammarly software and it will be part of your grade
