Case study Peloton Interactive (PTON is the ticker symbol): Projections, NPV, Compilation Assignment Instructions

The minimum page count mentioned in the instructions is for the narrative portions only, and does not include title page, abstract, table of contents, graphs, charts, figures, financial statements, exhibits, or references page. Please include all supporting material within the appendices of your paper. For the final combined Week 8 submission, most students find this to be near 50 pages in length with all materials. However, each of the 3 parts will be much shorter individually. There is not a specific requirement for the length of these 3 individual parts, so please provide the content you deem necessary to address each item. To be clear, the minimum page requirement is for the entire, combined submission due in Week 8. As you will see, this case study is very comprehensive. It will challenge you (in a good way) to leverage what you have learned in prior courses as you have completed the program. You will also be tasked with conducting extensive research regarding the company and you will analyze financial statements (while also providing projections). If the financial reporting is an area of less experience for you, please be encouraged to look at the case very early in the course. That way, you will have ample time to conduct online research (to familiarize yourself with aspects of financial analysis) and respond to the case requirements. Please leverage your current and prior textbooks (such as from accounting and finance courses), your outside research, and practical materials that you may find helpful in developing and interpreting the financial statements (such as YouTube videos on how to conduct financial analysis). Please prepare early by reviewing the financial reporting and analysis requirements for the case, ensuring that you know how to derive key financial ratios, develop pro forma statements, and evaluate net present value (all of which are required in the case). For example, if you are unsure how to perform a horizontal or vertical analysis, please begin researching this now (there are several how-to websites and YouTube videos of the technique – please review those as early as possible).
