SLC 540 Movement Analysis
Assignment:
View video or attend a sporting event of your choice and chart the required information to analyze how best to design conditioning programs for that sport. It is difficult to watch TV coverage unless it follows one athlete for the required time. The best way to learn how to condition for a sport is to watch the sport and chart movements, distances, and durations of movements. You will submit your analysis by the due date FEB 17th 11:55 PM EST and we will all discuss it in a forum.
Chart a 5 minute span of exact movement patterns (distance, number, order of movements) for one athlete. This can be very challenging, but the closer to actual game speed movements, distances, and durations, the better understanding of proper sport specific preparation.
On the second sheet, chart for a 15 minute span, the numbers for each movement (forward, backward, lateral, jumping, throwing, etc. This allows us to understand the percentages of each movement that should be done in a conditioning session.
Show the percentages of each movement ( forward run, backward run, jump, etc.)
