You have been instructed by your supervisor to reach out to the community and create a task force to address a specific local problem. Discuss how you would organize people who will be the workforce of this project. Describe some of the key points you will use to identify who should be included in this group. This week select ONE of the two topics below for your top level discussion board post:
1. select a community based long term care option such as home care, palliative care or adult day care services. Go to the web and find one of these options and bring it back to our class. Describe the pluses and minuses and, if possible the cost of your option.
Please also look to see if the place you have selected has any job opportunities and bring one back to our class giving information about it for discussion. If not, go to www.Indeed.com and find a position in one of these types of facilities and share it with us.
2.This week, we are also going to look at external control of long term care facilities. Who is keeping an eye on those placed? Please read Chapter 10 and discuss the impact of public (government) and private controls on long term care.
