Community-based organizations (CBOs), whether private, governmental, non-profit, or faith-based, serve a key function in implementing and providing healthcare services and information to individuals and diverse groups of people. This project will consist of a written assignment providing an

– insightful and detailed report of a pre-assigned CBO and the role they play in educating, empowering, and providing health programs and/or information to targeted community members or groups. 


Your written assignment will follow APA guidelines (see Canva for a link to a guide). It should include a title page followed by a minimum of 8 pages, double-spaced with one-inch margins using a 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font. Provide at least 6 in-text citations using APA guidelines, including citations from the organization’s literature (brochures, fact sheets, and publications), website (stick with .org, .edu, or .gov), textbooks, and personal communications with staff/volunteers at the organization. A reference page with all used references should be included.

  • What types of services or programs are offered? 
    • Identify and give examples of primary, secondary, or tertiary intervention level programs or services (if applicable)
  • Where are services or programs offered?
  • Where and how are the services and programs marketed?
  • How did the agency determine the needs of the population, or the types of programs needed? 
  • Is there a cost associated with the services? 
  • Are referrals made to additional programs/services?
