These papers should include thoughtful reactions to a topic discussed during the class. Specifically, you will pick a different topic for each paper, meaning the first paper will focus on any material you find interesting that was covered prior to the due date and the second will cover any material covered after that. Pretend your audience knows nothing about community psychology.
The goal is to demonstrate your understanding of course material, so be sure to define, describe, and discuss the key concepts, theory, and/or research related to your topic and then apply the course material to the “real world” (e.g., a specific current event or your own experiences).
Note that appropriate APA style, in-text citation is required for reflection papers.
Papers must include: 1) an introduction (briefly outline what topic your paper will focus upon with relevant citations for context, and include a thesis statement); 2) body paragraphs (define and cite key concepts / theory / research and then apply them as appropriate); and 3) a conclusion (briefly summarize for your reader the main points of your paper and state your conclusions). Papers must be typed in 12-point font, double-spaced, formatted with 1-inch margins, and should be 3-4 pages in length.
