Comparing the advancement in technology over the last two decades, what impacts on human society have you experienced? Do you agree with Ellul’s analysis?
Dr. Miller’s online session on Jacques Ellul’s brings up several thought-provoking points that lead me to wonder how right Ellul was now looking at our modern society. I was specifically interested in the dangers of technology and the impacts of technique: rate of utilization, cultural disruptions, relationship with science, and scope. Comparing these two time periods and looking at the four impacts of modern technology discussed previously, what have you experienced personally with this technological shift? Do you agree with Ellul’s analysis?
