Instructions from my professor:
In this annotated bibliography task, you must include two primary texts: at least one module text (including those texts listed on the tutor’s preparation document) and EITHER another module text OR a text from outside the module within the dates 1900-the present. Your annotated bibliography must show how you will critically compare and evaluate your chosen texts in relation to the critical/cultural-theoretical perspectives that you will include in your annotated bibliography.
This assessment is worth 10% of your module grade.
We expect the annotated research bibliography to include approximately ten to fifteen items of primary and secondary material with annotations and reflections. You should respond to one of the module’s topics, but can develop your own ideas. Your bibliography will build on the “research topic document” provided by a lecturer linked to your own interests, and you will thus set up your directed reading for weeks 1-3 of spring semester.
Your annotated bibliography will be marked with a view to: 1) appropriateness of selection of primary and secondary material and 2) evidence of preliminary research and analytical thinking in the annotations to your bibliography.”
I have already submitted Toni Morrisons ‘A Mercy’ as one of the texts I will be working on for the final essay, so please use this as one of the texts in the annotated bibliography and then feel free to pick another of your choosing that will work well to critically compare to this. Any is fine as long as it fits the requirement (within the dates 1900-the present and would work in comparison with my already chosen novel.
I can provide module materials upon requests if you need them/ want them to work with. I have attatched some of the ones used during my classes for ‘A Mercy’
