My assignment is a counter argument over an article about racism from the view of a Marxist. Journal Article Counter-Argument
A
written assignment will determine 50% of your grade. The paper will be your
counter-argument of a scholarly article to be distributed in class by the
professor. Your assignment will be to analyze the arguments presented in the
article and refute them using scholarly
evidence. You must include references supporting your argument in APA
format. Be sure to support your position using the most authoritative sources
in educational philosophy, not merely the most convenient. This is not a book
report, merely summarizing the argument the author makes will not be sufficient
to earn a passing grade for this assignment. Your paper is limited to 10-12
pages (not less than 10 and no more than 12 pages) not including title page and
references and must follow APA format. Your analysis must be based on the
following outline:
1. Identification of the arguments the
author makes.
1.
Assumptions
underlying the author’s arguments. Two pages are sufficient for parts 1 and 2
combined.
3. An analysis of the weaknesses of the
arguments.
Guidelines
· The text of your journal article review will be limited to 10-12 (no
less than 10 and no more than 12) pages in length, double spaced.
o
To count as a page, you must have over half a
page of text.
o
Half a page of content does not
equate a page.
o
Title pages and references do not
count toward the page requirement.
· Use Times New Roman 12-point font and one-inch margins on the top,
bottom and sides.
· Your citations and reference list must follow APA format. If you are uncertain about the APA format, refer to the
Publication Manual of the American
Psychological Association, several copies are located in the library and it
is advisable for all graduate students in education to have a copy of their
own.
·
This
will also involve a clear writing style, using paragraph structure, topic
sentences and proper grammar. Effectively communicating your thoughts is
critical at this stage of your career, and it must be reflected in your written
work. I will provide formative feedback on a draft of the paper if it is
submitted before the University closes for Spring Break. Submitting a draft is
optional, not required. No late
submissions will be accepted or graded.
