DESCRIPTION:
The concept map provides the student an organised way to
show conceptual understanding of business development, sales, and services
marketing by organising personal knowledge and strengthening connections
between concepts.
INSTRUCTIONS:
This assessment requires you to produce a concept map that
focuses on implementing a digital sales or business development tool for the
company: Hotel YAN Pte,. Ltd.

FROM CREDIBLE SOURCES AND USE THE DETAILS FOUND FROM YOUR RESEARCH ON THIS
ASSESSMENT WHEN YOU ARE WORKING ON THE RESPECTIVE COMPONENTS OF THE CHOSEN
TOPIC.
**Your concept map should indicate, where
appropriate, how different departments within the organization will be impacted
by the digital or sales tool, taking into consideration the impact on suppliers
and customers.
You are free to be creative with the tool that you choose
to base your concept map. However, consideration should be given to choosing a
subject that affords sufficient scope or depth, such that your concept map
avoids being overly superficial.
Possible topics could include:
• Metaverse
• Omni Channel Behaviour
• Platform Strategy
*These are merely examples and you are invited to be
imaginative with the focus of your concept map. You should consult with your
lecturer when choosing your topic. Concept maps allow you to create links
between ideas, theories, practice and all the many influences that surround
them and business development more broadly. Careful thought and consideration
should guide what is important in your concept map. Your concept map should not
be overly complex but it should still capture the essence of your topic.
Provide a 500 WORD summary of your concept map created that:
• Clearly defines the focus of your concept map
• Brief narrative of the map
• What benefit you believe this tool will provide to your
business
IMPORTANT: do read through ALL the lecture
notes PPT slides Topic 6-10 which I have attached under files which contains
all the important concepts and theories which you must apply in this assessment
concept map and 300-500 word summary of the concept map you have created.
TOOLS TO USE FOR THIS ASSESSMENT
There are numerous free programs available for producing a
concept map, you often do not need to subscribe, as the simple free versions
should be adequate. You could try www.lucidchart.com, www.draw.io,
www.canva.com, you may hand draw your concept map or you may find another
application to create your map. Experiment with draft versions of your concept
map so you are able to create a polished concept map. Ensure that your saved
map is clearly legible, please save your concept map as a PDF file. In previous
years some very good concepts maps have been made using MS Word and ‘inserting
shapes’.
TO NOTE: Generative AI tools cannot be used in this
assessment task In this assessment, you must not use Generative Artificial
Intelligence (GenAI) for any elements of the assessment task including the
generation of any materials or content in relation to the assessment item.
