  1. Based on the readings for the week, critique Hagel & Brown’s idea on scalable learning.  Explain what it is, why it is important, and use the other readings as ways to scope their suggestions.  What challenges do you see in your current organization when it comes to trying to implement scalable learning?

Remember the 4 criterion for team discussion.

  1. Organization – your final response should be well-articulated, structured, easy to read, with a narrative that makes a compelling case for the arguments you have made. Don’t do “brain dumps” or “terminology dumps”. Think about the point of the question, how you will address it, and do so in a logical manner.
  2. Use of course materials – this rubric is both a quality control check (did you read the material) but also allows us to build on what is already known from the IS strategy literature. I am always looking for original ideas, but there should be a basis for your ideas, they should not be just pure conjecture. Taking concepts, properly attributed, from the readings and incorporating insights from your work experience, are an excellent way to create integration and synthesis – a good goal for the graduate level and beyond.
  3. Evidence of critical thinking – think about your education as not just a sequence of modules or classes or even a degree. When you learn something that you think you can apply, it becomes internalized knowledge. Don’t limit yourself to course materials or experiences within modules, but consider using the base knowledge across modules later as well. When I read your final responses, proficient answers are ones that go beyond stating the obvious. They demonstrate that students have read the material, thought about it, integrated it into their world-view, combined it with their own experiences, and are able to apply the knowledge and articulate viewpoints in a balanced and compelling manner.
  4. Level of collaboration – was it just 6 un-related answers turned in by different members or was it a real collaborative effort that the end product shows great promise?
