Critical Analysis of High Obesity Rates Among African American Adults in the United States.

The project entails a critical
analysis of obesity prevalence within the African American community. I’ve
drafted an initial idea paragraph and a concept paper serving as preliminary
steps. Now, you’ll delve into the proposal section to elaborate further on
the critical analysis which will eventually be reviewed and approved by the
professor. The first part of the project was the idea paragraph and the concept paper was next, followed by the proposal paper. The feebdacks from the professor for the first two section “idea paragraph and concept paper” is mentioned below.

This assignment is a 6- to 7-page double-spaced critical analysis proposal, exclusive of title page, references, and appendices ,
which should be included with this assignment.
 The Proposal
will describe the Cumulating Experience project in significant
detail. Required components are specific to the project type (see below). The project type is a critical
analysis.

Critical Analysis:

o   Background. Detailed introduction to the
health issue/risk factors/target population selected for the analysis.

o   Specific Aims. Listing of specific aims
(minimum two) including: (a) aim(s) of the literature review and (b) aim(s) of
your unique contribution to the field based on aforementioned scientific
evidence.

o   Methods. Detailed description of how the
literature will be reviewed including: (a) specific databases consulted, (b)
overview of search terms to be utilized (full list required as an appendix),
and (c) all relevant inclusion/exclusion criteria.

o   References.

o   Appendices. Full search term combination
list required; others allowed if relevant.

Please integrate the feedback from the concept paper that the professor
mentioned below in quotation into the proposal you are currently working on.

Feedback from my concept paper from the professor: “1.
Please be careful about lifting entire sentences/phrases from the source
citation – always paraphrase (or, if it’s important to maintain the same
wording, use quotes). 2. In your proposal, please number your aims. I wonder if
you may need a different search/set of search terms for identifying the factors
vs. looking for evidence-based strategies/interventions/community engagement. I
also wonder if doing all of that is perhaps too broad a scope. Perhaps you
could consider whether you want your framework to focus on the factors
contributing OR on the strategies/interventions/solutions and then your lit
review can focus on one or the other instead of both.”

Another feedback from the professor for the idea paragraph I wrote is
attached below, please integrate this feedback into the proposal you’re writing
as well.

Idea Paragraph Feedback from Professor: “I do worry that your
research question is still quite broad, and it includes two completely separate
literature reviews – one on underlying factors and the other on
interventions/policies to address them. It’s okay to have a two-part literature
review, but I would suggest you do them in sequence, and use the first lit
review to identity the top 3 factors for this population and then focus your
second lit review on interventions/policies that address those 3 specific
factors among this population.”
