INTRODUCTION

·Using a range of citations, introduce Leadership as a concept within healthcare and
justify the importance of leadership within the NHS.

·Distinguish the leadership approach to be discussed in the essay.

·Signpost the reader to the attributes and dimensions of leadership to be explored
within the assignment, in relation to the identified QI project.





Main Body –
discussion, synthesis and evaluation



·Justify the recommended leadership approach selected against the other leadership approaches
and in relation to the QI project.

 

·Evaluate the issues/factors around implementing the QI project/change management with reference to the dimensions of leadership and wider guidelines and research/ literature.

 

Conclusion



·Using key literature/ guidelines explored in the discussion/main body section, synthesis the recommendations and leadership approach to change defended in the essay.

·Summarise the
arguments/discussion form the main body

·Explore how
understanding will influence practice

·Relate to NMC

•Identification of a QI process, including rationale; Discussion
on importance of leadership;

•Justification of selected leadership approach;

•Evaluate factors around leadership in relation to a QI approach; eg/ leadership,
interprofessional working and co-production.

•Discuss barriers and enablers to leadership and QI success – for example leadership, co-
production, interprofessional working, politics, human factors, etc.

•Discussion on selected leadership approach utilising other approaches to enhance justification for
selected approach;

•Strategic (organisational) challenges/facilitators; Field
issues;

•Capacities;
Engagement; Sustainability; Human
factors, Team working, etc.

have cited during the essay. Make sure that you use the Harvard referencing
system and list authors A-Z by last name (surname).

Evaluation – use surveys, interviews, etc. Give rationale for everything to make discussions.

Explain – Develop your point of view relevant to every point discussed in the essay.

Repeat – Repeating the points by paraphrasing—no more than 1 point per paragraph.
