As a radiographer it is important that you understand the environment in which you practice. Having an understanding of relevant government, regulatory and professional body policy will help you to understand their impact on the structure and delivery of cancer services as well as you as an individual practitioner.

• Identify relevant policy and discuss its impact on cancer service delivery and or the individual practitioner (including continuous professional development).
• Evaluate the use of quality standards and audit to improve service delivery
• Identify and discuss current issues affecting cancer services in general and radiotherapy service in particular

Introduction:
• Your introduction section should set an appropriate context for the assignment and be clearly linked to the assignment title.

Main body:
• Within the main body of your assignment, you should discuss a range of current health policy and quality management mechanisms employed to ensure that a world-class radiotherapy service is available to patients in the United Kingdom. You are not required to consider all of the possible policies and mechanisms, but your work should consider a small range from different sources. (25 marks)
• Your work should clearly show the impact and effectiveness of the health policies and quality management mechanisms considered. (35 marks)
• Your text should show clear links to appropriate policy documents in relation to quality management mechanisms discussed within your assignment. (10 marks)
70 marks
Conclusion:
• Your conclusion section should clearly indicate as to what can be concluded from the main points discussed in your assignment.
• Your conclusion section should show that you have met the aim(s) of your assignment.
