  • Describe the facility for which you plan to develop your audit material in the Final Project. Provide detail regarding the facility, such as the type of operation, shifts operated, and number of employees.
  • List and justify the scope of regulatory requirements that will need to be included in your audit program. This list will include all applicable regulations that apply to the facility you have selected. For example, if you selected a distribution center you could include powered industrial trucks as one regulated topic and write as your justification, “Due to the facility being a distribution center, a large amount of palleted product is moved and stored throughout the building. This requires the need to properly train and maintain powered industrial trucks (forklifts, reachlifts, and stock pickers). The facility would need to comply with OSHA’s powered industrial truck regulation, which is 29 CFR 1910.178.”
  • List and justify the scope of non-regulated topics that will need to be included in your audit program. This list will include all applicable non-regulated topics that apply to the facility you have selected. Fore example, if you selected a distribution center you could include worker engagement as one non-regulated topic and write as your justification, “Workers need to be provided with the opportunities to engage in workplace safety. Their feedback and participation can improve workplace safety performance. ISO 45001 provides information that can direct worker engagement activity.”
