Describe the impact of Western thought (ie. European culture) on Navajo history, culture, and tradition.

Research Paper 1: Navajo & the West

Describe the impact of Western thought (ie. European culture) on        Navajo history, culture, and tradition.

This assignment’s minimum length is 500 words of body text (ie. not counting your header or Works Cited page). No more than 10% of your paper can be someone else’s words. If more than 100 words of your paper are quoting me or others, your grade will suffer.

Papers should be in a standard 12-point font (eg. Times New Roman), with 1”x 1” margins, and double–spaced. Pages must be numbered and labeled according to MLA conventions. I will be taking grammar, spelling, and structure into account — good ideas cannot be communicated with poor form. If the grammar or structure in this paper is severely flawed in such a way that your thesis and arguments cannot be conveyed, I reserve the right to fail the paper.

Also, a gentle reminder: do not indulge in personal politics, religious views or proclamations, etc. I will not be evaluating you on your identity or the communities to which you belong.

A requirement of this paper is that you must cite at least two outside sources (citing more will increase your grade, while citing fewer will significantly lower your grade). Your textbook and the lecture notes are legitimate academic sources but citing only these will not grant you an exemplary grade. This assignment requires research on your part.

A Works Cited page must accompany these sources at the end of your paper. For this course, we use MLA format
