- Develop a plan for implementing a real-world application of one or more of the technologies / concepts covered in this course within an organization. (I chose Integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems(MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline manufacturing operations)
- The deliverable is a report addressing the following:
- What is the application and smart manufacturing concepts to be used? (include any context about the organization needed to understand the application)
- What are the organizational benefits expected from the project? Cite some related case studies to support your claims
- What implementation alternatives are available (and to the extent possible on our short timeline, ballpark costs)? Which do you recommend?
- What are the major steps that would be required for implementation, and approximate timeline?
I am flexible on the specific organization of the report, so long as the points above are addressed somewhere.
Additional requirements:
- It should be written in the style of a professional technical report.
- Include a title and your name(s) at the top of the first page.
- I don’t have a specific word count or page target, but suggest ballpark of 3-5 pages (single spaced, 11 or 12pt font, with 1″ margins all around, 6pt or 12pt spacing between paragraphs, and no excess blank space [except at end of last page]).
- Use proper section headings (heading1, heading 2, etc.) for the different sections of your report.
- Figures / tables to be properly numbered and captioned and referenced in the text.
- You must cite at least two sources, properly cited in the narrative of your report, and properly listed in a references section at the end of the report.
