The Battle of Vimy Ridge unquestionably instigated societal and cultural transformations in Canada. Vern Thiessen’s play, Vimy, provides insight into why some of these changes may not have a positive impact on modern Canadian society. How does the 2007 play Vimy illustrate the positive (Being seen as an independent country from England, being differentiated from the USA, Remembrance Day, etc.) or negative (Generational and societal trauma, fake sense of societal and cultural shifts triggered by the Battle of Vimy Ridge, and what are the implications of these changes in contemporary Canada?

Please write 1500 words using the topic described abovec. Begin the essay with a well-developed introductory paragraph that contains a clear thesis (Thesis is given by topic and research question in the attached document). Provide specific textual evidence for the thesis claims coming from the main academic source (Vimy by Vern Thiessen). Use at least the 3 academic secondary sources that I have added in my research proposal (attached document) to support the thesis. These sources must be cited in the text of the essay, as well as in the bibliography. I expect to see at least two sources cited in each main body paragraph of the essay.
