Your answer should be at least 8 sentences long and written in paragraph form. Your submission should be written in an essay-style format.
Your post must be written in complete sentences, using proper grammar and correct spelling.
Your answer should be original in thought and written in your own words (no plagiarism).
No more than 20% of your assignment should be a direct quote from one of your sources (1 sentence for every 8 sentences).
When using a sentence or idea directly from a source, that sentence should be written in quotation marks and credit to the author given.
For example, a direct quote should be written in the following manner:
As Jessica Ramirez stated in her article, “No cheating is allowed in RSPT 1201”.

Part 2 (25% of your grade)
Respond to two (2) of your classmates’ initial posts. (Each response is 12.5% of your grade.) — Be sure to respond to initial posts and not to other replies.
Each response must be at least 4 sentences in length.
Each response must be meaningful and insightful. Do not just write “I agree” and push submit.
Each response must be written in complete sentences, using proper grammar and correct spelling.
Additional references are not required in this section. However, if you use additional resources to help you expand on your classmate’s discussion post, cite your references at the bottom of your submission.
Remember: A substantive response is a response to the question in complete sentences that (1) clearly supports a position, (2) begins a new topic, (3) or somehow adds to the discussion by critically reflecting on what is being discussed or (4) moving the discussion in a new direction. You must provide the “why” or “how” reply. Just because you agree is not a substantive response. You must provide “substance” of why or how you agree.
Plagiarism is strictly forbidden. Refer to the Academic Dishonesty section in the Student Handbook.
Make sure to check your work. Points will be deducted for improper grammar and a significant amount of spelling errors.
During online discussions, students with differing opinions must be respected even if you disagree with those opinions.
Foul or obscene language, flaming, personal attacks, lack of consideration for diversity, racist, sexist, ageist, or other unacceptable language will not be tolerated during discussions or at any other time. Students who engage in such behavior will be locked out.
Use proper “netiquette” when participating in the online classroom. Some rules of “netiquette” include:
Be Friendly, positive, and self-reflective.
Use proper language and appropriate titles in your response. Do NOT use texting abbreviations or slang. (For example, the word “you” should be used, not “u”.)
Use effective communication – read and re-read before posting.
