overall argument. Please remember, no
new information should be included in your conclusions.
The reference list and paper should
adhere to Harvard conventions – both in-text citations and a reference list
should be included. You are expected to
cite widely throughout your paper.
Features of a Good Assignment

is written using short sentences which are well written, focused and impactful.

is accurately and stringently applied.
Research:
The
essay demonstrates a clear and analytical understanding of the core arguments
and debates covered in the module. The essay uses ample research to support the
core arguments. The essay demonstrates ample reading and engagement with
supporting papers on Moodle, plus other additional sources discovered through
independent study. You need to show a balanced mixture of academic (academic
journal papers, books) and non-academic resources (reputable business press
e.g., FT, Economist, The Guardian, Bloomberg, Reuters etc;
technical documents and reports by IFIs e.g., WTO, WB, IMB, Europa, UNCTAD, ILO
etc;
reports by NGOs and think-tanks, other databases and archives etc).
Time
to reflect: Leave
sufficient time to walk away and come back to the work. This drafting and
redrafting process is key to getting a good mark! Come to the essay writing
workshop in week 10 (i.e., the last workshop) – this is KEY. Discuss your ideas
and concerns with your educator.
