Research Paper:
Your research paper will have to be at 7-10 pages long (not counting the works cited).
You must use 5-8 secondary sources –no websites (outside of library’s databases) will be allowed unless approved by instructor.
You must choose two stories by the same author and argue how both stories themes, symbols, etc. reflect the movement the stories were written in or how they reflect a theory we have learned from our short story notes. You may use your knowledge from our notes, but you will also need secondary sources that help explain more about the time period or movement.
You can use a short story author we have already covered, or you can choose another short story author, but you must choose two stories by the same author, and you must choose stories that have already been previously written about (for example, I would not choose stories written in the past five years because there will be a lack of secondary sources published about those stories)
In order to successfully complete the research paper, you will need to follow several steps by the due dates designated:
Submit outline of research paper by May 5th (20 points)
Submit an annotated bibliography by May 12th (50 points)
Submit completed rough draft by May 15th (25 points)
Complete a peer review for classmate by May 19th (20 points)
Submit a final draft with works cited on May 24th (300 points) –graduates must submit final work by 21st
