When you are writing your literature review keep the following points in mind:
- Your information should be gathered from multiple, primary sources.
- Organize your literature review in one of the following ways:
- Chronological order
- Advancements in the profession
- Geographically
- Major questions
- Create smooth transitional connections between each source reviewed.
- Use data representations, analyses, and interpretations to support the findings.
- Use an evidence table to summarize the findings from the articles included. Here is an example: Evidence Table with Instructions.jpg
- Make sure you use the correct APA formatting for the table. See the Capstone Guidelines pages 24 to 25.
- Cover the content, in-depth, without being redundant.
- Use quotes and paraphrased material purposefully to illustrate or explain an opinion or idea; to assert a fact; to provide authority for an assertion made; to provide a focal point; to show many opinions. Follow the APA 7 guidelines for quotes.
- Chapter length of 5 to 30 pages.
- Check and correct your grammar, spelling, sentence structure, etc. prior to submission.
