Using the Kantian ethical frameworks covered in your course material (AND your additional self-study and research on it), critique the behavior/actions of TWO of the main people described and/or interviewed in the 3 Hour Frontline Documentary “United States of Secrets”. One of these people must be Edward Snowden. the other will be obama and bush combined on how they acted in presidency.
Using the MIS 100 writing process, and presenting the associated artifacts of that process in an appendix to the main document, the final paper should include, but in no way be limited to, your general assessment of their character and motivations, their intent versus outcome, and HOW and WHY you came to your conclusions (in the context of the Kantian ethical framework).
Remember all that we have covered about writing effectively! Outlines, drafts, and final paper should conform to the 3 part structure: Thesis-evidence-conclusion. If you do not remember what this means, review the Unit #1 lecture.
The paper should be 5+ pages (not including the title page, TOC, appendix, etc.) in length and conform to the format, structure and presentation requirements outlined in the course information sheet.
All writing process artifacts (notes, categories, outlines, draft thesis, etc…must be presented in an appendix. The appendix does NOT count in the required page count.
Important Note: Any paper that does not conform to the length and/or structural requirements will not be graded and receive a “0” and will not be given any opportunity to resubmit nor will any “makeup” opportunity be provided. Please understand that this is an unbending requirement. If the final paper (appendices do not count) is less than 5 full pages, it will not be read, no feedback will be provided beyond “Paper does not conform to minimal length requirement.”, and a “0” will be assigned. Further, if an appendix is not provided that includes the process artifacts required for the MIS 100 writing process, a grade of “0” will be assigned and no recourse will be provided to resubmit or otherwise “makeup” the lost points.
The paper is an individual assignment. Students are advised to invest a significant amount of time ensuring they understand the writing process, are very engaged in their research, and taking care to reflect this in their submissions.
