A scholar must be able to describe what their research areas include. Using written expression to succinctly convey the topic and importance of that research is a skill you develop as a graduate student.
For this assignment, you will use a topic related to your research. This paper will use APA conventions and citations.
Step 1. Identify
Determine a topic related to your research that you will use to focus your work this term.
Step 2. Locate
find two published articles on your topic. Be sure one is from a peer-reviewed scholarly source. The other source should be from a more mainstream or widely available source (a source you might find outside of academia).
Step 3. Compare
Read the sources comparing the style and voice of the two pieces.
Step 4. Determine
Determine which is more effective in conveying information about your topic. Consider your audience and context as identifying criteria for your decision and make the determination.
Step 5. Write
Write a 2- to 3-page paper. Introduce your topic and provide APA-formatted citations for your two sources. Explain your process for locating and selecting the sources while maintaining a scholarly voice. Summarize your analysis of the effectiveness of each and provide a rationale for your determination regarding which is most effective.
Step 6. Submit
Submit an APA-formatted title page, 2- to 3-page paper, and a reference page.
LET’S TALK FLUENCY: ELEMENTARY EDUCATORS’ PERCEPTIONS OF THE IMPACT
AND IMPLEMENTATION OF FLUENCY INSTRUCTION WITHIN THE LEVELED
LITERACY INTERVENTION FRAMEWORK
teachers’ perceptions of the implementation of Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) within Tier II
and Tier III of a Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) while focusing on reading fluency
instruction. Using a mixed methods approach, this study described the impact of LLI on student
outcomes in reading fluency, as well as examined the integrity of LLI implementation within
Tier II and Tier III through descriptive statistical analysis of student achievement data and a
document review of intervention records. In addition, through the use of inductive thematic
analysis of observations and interviews, this study explored teachers’ perceptions of LLI in
relation to reading fluency instruction, as their perceptions, knowledge, and decision-making
impact implementation of LLI across Tier II and Tier III of a MTSS.
