ASSIGNMENT TEXT 1
Text 1: Subject article (must be written in English):
The overall theme of the article is technology in a societal perspective. The social perspectives that the tasks address are technology history and environment and sustainability.
Write a subject text that discusses a self-selected technology/product from a sustainability perspective OR from a historical perspective.
For those who choose a sustainability perspective: It is the environmental impacts of the technology that you will focus on in the article. You will discuss the environmental challenges posed by consumption and technology development and show how environmental considerations have contributed to changes in the development of your chosen technology. You yourself must choose a problem that delimits your task.
For those who choose a historical perspective: You must choose which technology/product you will write about, as well as how far back in history you go. The article must contain the contemporary view of technology (your text must therefore contain information about which view of technology characterized the time the technology was developed) as well as the conditions that facilitated the development of this particular technology. You must create a problem that determines what you will focus on in your text.
You will write an academic subject article. This means that you have to deal with credible sources. Even if you get help in gathering information from AI, you must keep a list of sources and know which sources have been used. Remember to be critical of the information you collect. You must refer to the sources within the text, as well as provide a list of sources at the end of the text. This is taught in a lecture. Your subject text must be based on a problem you create yourself, and your entire text must provide a comprehensive answer to this. The text must also be discursive (not just descriptive). The text must be 1,000 words (+/- 10%). Follow the provided template. The article is written in English.
Content of the article:
Introduction and problem: Introduce your chosen topic and end with a clearly formulated problem
Method: For this assignment: source literature, secondary sources
Theory/academic background: Facts and information you gather from your sources (important to cite sources here!)
Discussion: You must discuss the information you gather in the light of the assignment text. Here you must analyse, reflect and synthesize (see lecture). (Important to cite the source here as well).
Conclusion: Here you must give a clear and concise answer to the problem. You bring out the most important points from the discussion and professional background, and repeat them briefly here.
Source list: Use IEEE standard (all the sources to which you have referred in the text must be listed here).
Attachment: Only if necessary (not mandatory)
