Please read carefully the following 6 PDF/Word files.
-Please read the Periodontal Charting, profitable or not? essay. Comment on if the information provided within in it is consistent with the CDC prevalence study assigned. Explain how the article Failing to meet the goals of Recall is or is not related.
-Please give your thoughts as to why periodontal charting is not completed on a routine basis by so many. If in your office one day, you found your hygienist, copying over the previous charting listed in the record, what would you say?
-Review each of the other 5 articles and in your own words, describe:
1- the purpose of the article,
2-the method,
3-results
4-implications of each study in detail.
5-Explain (in your own words) how the Experimental gingivitis study, The Natural History of Periodontal Disease, Host Modulation, and the Burst hypothesis articles/studies relate to of the current theories of progression of periodontal disease (go beyond the articles to answer this question), and the current thinking on prevalence of periodontal disease. Explain in detail each of the articles and why they are or are not relevant today.
6- Does the age of some of these articles somehow impact their relevance?
