The Proposal Outline is as follows:
Working Title (this may change as you develop your paper).
Objective: What is the purpose and objective of your term paper (other than the instructor is making me)? What do you want to reader to learn about your topic?
Historical Perspective: The term paper is to examine the understanding of one specific psychological principle of human behavior from a historical perspective. How will you complete the historical perspective requirement? How does this paper connect your topic to the history of psychology? What influence has your topic had on the field of psychology?
Personal Interest: What is your interest in this topic? Why did you select this topic to present to the rest of us?
References:
Submit three to four references in current APA format. The references must include the following at a minimum: (1-2) one to two primary resources, (1-2) one to two secondary reference providing a historical perspective of the topic. Help with APA format and references can be found in the Helpful Documents folder under the Course Information tab.
Wikipedia and generic websites, including, but not limited to, verywellmind.com or simplypsychology.org, are not acceptable as references. You may not use your text book as a reference.
The proposal must be 2 pages in length and written in current APA format and style. Submit your proposal in WORD DOC format. If I can’t open the document it has not been submitted and the assignment is late. It is required to use the outline in the proposal example. You will need to review the text and the term paper topic list above (view the Topic of My Paper: Class Discussion) in order to see what may spark your interest.
Name the document as follows: “Last Name, first initial PSYU 351 Proposal-Topic.
EXAMPLE: “Freud, S. PSYU 351 Proposal-Humanistic Psychology.”
