Exploring Grief in “Death by Landscape” by Margaret Atwood and in “An Important Failure” from Rebecca Campbell’s Arboreality

five to six (5-6) pages in MLA format (Times
New Roman, 12-point double-spaced font)

Task:

Write a research essay that responds to
one (1) of the essay topics below.

Your paper needs a thesis in the
introductory paragraph, body paragraphs that work out the thesis by means of
textual evidence (direct quotations and specific examples from the texts) with
in-text citations, a minimum of two (2) scholarly sources with in-text
citations, a concluding paragraph, and a Works Cited page. Each essay will take
the form of a comparative, argumentative scholarly essay about two (2) works from
the syllabus based on the information and topics below. Your scholarly sources
should be peer-reviewed and found in the Huron/Western library databases or in
the physical library.

Essays must be the student’s original
material and must cite any outside sources carefully in MLA style.

Submit the essay on Brightspace. Cite all
sources consulted in the text where appropriate, and in the Works Cited sheet in
MLA style. The use of AI text generators is not permitted for this assignment.
Any use of AI must be cited because a student must indicate any work (ideas,
composition, or vocabulary) that is not their own. Late assignments will be
penalized 2% per day.
