Exploring the Effect of Stress, Resilience, and Intersectionality on Mental Health in LGBTQIA+ College Students

: You will prepare a research paper for this course, and this will be worth 100
points. This paper will require you to prepare a research paper in APA format. The paper will be based on a
topic of your choice. You will come up with a research question and you will answer as a researcher. Will you
collect data? No, you will not, however you will prepare the Methods and Results section as though you did
collect data to answer your question describing your research design and analyses you would perform. You
will also review peer-reviewed articles to assist in preparing your paper. How will you find articles? You will
find the article using the Hunter College electronic search facilities for the library. The following should be
included in your paper:
1) Title Page in APA style
2) APA style Abstract
3) a complete Introduction
4) For the Methods and Results section, you will describe your proposed research design
as well as the analyses you propose conducting to answer your question
5) a complete Discussion
6) APA style Reference list, you are expected to review peer-reviewed articles to assist
you in your research paper. You should review a minimum of four peer-reviewed
articles. You are encouraged to use professional psychology or scientific journals
published within the past 10 years. No qualitative studies or books are allowed for this
project.
Internet references are not acceptable unless they are professional on-line peer reviewed journal articles
with appropriate abstracts and quantitative research. Do not use websites such as WebMD or Wikipedia to
conduct your research. Websites are not acceptable as references. If you include them in your project, you will
lose points.
